Can I substitute ground beef with ground turkey in most recipes?

I notice that ground turkey has almost no juice left over in the pan after I've browned it, so I'm not sure if it would be too dry in some of the beef-casserole dishes that I make. Any suggestions or helpful hints from cyberspace would be greatly appreciated!Can I substitute ground beef with ground turkey in most recipes?
I use ground turkey in spaghetti sauce and it makes great chili. You can also use it in hamburger helper. One word of caution; make sure the label says ';ground turkey'; not ';ground whitemeat turkey';. This is when the turkey breast is ground. I accidentally bought the whitemeat and it was terribly dry and VERY white. It was also kind of chewy and made my chili look weird. I would use ground turkey for everything you use ground beef for except hamburgers. I have never had a problem with ground turkey being dry.Can I substitute ground beef with ground turkey in most recipes?
i always overseason and add some liquid to ground turkey or else it tends to be bland or dry.
Yes, you usually can but be careful ground turkey has a totally different consistency. I made turkey meatloaf once and it was very mushy. I don't think you will have a problem with dryness if your dish has some sauce.
Sure, get creative.. it probably is better for you and cheaper... but dont be afraid to try it. You just might come up with something great. I know someone who uses rabbit meat for tacos.. and they are great. Good luck.
sure you can, but it will change the recipe's flavor! Do you have a lot of turkey left over from the holidays in your freezer?

Personally I prefer BBQ made w/ground turkey to BBQ wground beef!! I've found you need to taste as you're cooking, %26amp; adjust frequently, but the others are right, if you have a sauce of some sort in there, you should be good.
Yes you can and it's even more healthy for you. SO subsituite it for beef or chicken and it makes it better for you
it is a good sub for burger but it may leave a nasty aftertast in some meals.

I substitute ground turkey all the time. If there is a liquid in your recipe, as most casserole do, you shouldn't have a problem. Always add extra of any seasoning in the recipe. Also--you can choose ground turkey or ground turkey breast(driest variety) at the meat market.
absolutely!! its so much healthier for you as well when browning the ground turkey take a measuring cup with about 1/4 filled with water and through some seasoning into the water and mix it and then pour it on to the ground turkey so it wont come out so dry! I love using ground turkey for burgers, tacos, pizza toppings, hamburger helper, Shepard's pie.. and even lasagna!
